This classroom jobs list is organized by the age of your students. However, you are the ultimate decision maker of what’s appropriate for your class! So feel free to grab jobs from each list and treat it like a list of 100 classroom jobs ideas!

Elementary Classroom Jobs List
- Line Leader – Lead the class when walking in a line
2. Door Holder – Opens and closes doors for the class
3. Caboose – Makes sure everyone is in line and no one gets left behind
4. Messenger – Delivers notes and messages to other classrooms or the office
5. Desk Inspector – Checks that desks are neat and organized
6. Pencil Patrol – Sharpens pencils and delivers extras
7. Chair Stacker – Stacks chair at the end of the day, maybe have a couple of kids on this job
8. Classroom Librarian – Organizes and maintains the class library
9. Board Eraser – Cleans the whiteboard
10. Tech Assistant – Helps with technology setup (projector, tablets, Chromebooks, etc.)
11. Paper Passer – Hands out worksheets, papers, or supplies
12. Paper Collector – Gathers papers after assignments and activities
13. Lunch Count Helper – Tracks how many students need a hot lunch, brought a lunch, etc.
14. Attendance Monitor – Records absent students and turns in attendance sheet to office
15. Weather Reporter – Checks and reports weather during morning meeting or other scheduled time
16. Recycling Monitor – Collects recycling and monitors the bin
17. Pet Caretaker – Cares for classroom pets

44. Clipboard Manager – Organizer and updates clipboards with class lists and materials

One of my favorite parts about classroom jobs is that students love having a special responsibility that’s all theirs! It builds classroom community and gives everyone a chance to be more engaged and invested in their learning environment. And honestly, when students help with the little details it frees you up to focus on teaching.
